Glanville Introduces New PPE for High-Pressure Water Jetting

Always striving to put the safety of our employees first, HGV Driver & Operator, Dave Black, and Operative, Jay Cocker initially trialed a new all-in-one hard hat visor and gloves for high-pressure water jetting provided by PWS to gather first-hand feedback on how effective they are compared to the current PPE we provide.

The feedback from Dave and Jay is that this solution is much more effective for them while working, reducing the hassle of swapping PPE when a visor is no longer required and the gloves providing easier movement when performing jetting tasks.

The EVO® VISTAshield® provides an all-in-one solution while high-pressure water jetting with a built-in and easily adjusted visor attached that can be quickly operated without the removal of the hard hat. On top of this, the visor is coated with an anti-mist protective layer that reduces the likelihood of condensation build-up while jetting, which we have found to be the leading factor in non-compliance. This easy-to-use visor removes the possibility of human error on the job as only one piece of PPE is required rather than separate components, there’s no excuse not to put safety first.

The current red gauntlets and powder gloves used while high-pressure water jetting provide poor dexterity and require removal frequently when performing other tasks. However, the new gloves are not only lightweight but provide greater dexterity to the operator as they are more workable gloves. And while we aim to prevent waste across the company, this glove is a more sustainable option with multi-use rather than single-use latex gloves.
